57 channels and nothing on
i was interested in what robert said about these new channels cropping up everywhere on british television, and can't really disagree with him. wouldn't want to.
itv3 is a weird one. how long has it been going? six months? a year? there is never anything on it that i even vaguely want to watch. not one thing. i wish there was something, just so i could say that i had watched itv3. but no.
what i hate about bbc3 is that whenever i switch to it that two pints of lager comedy is on. i think it must be for young people. it's pretty dire. i don't get it, anyway. and what's this thing with repeating programmes again and again and again?
bbc four could be fantastic. there must be licensing issues or something about having to provide a certain amount of new programmes, but with the wealth of old stuff lying about gathering dust, why don't they show it? i liked the shock of the new with robert hughes and would like to see it again, i think they re-ran it once a while back but i blinked and missed it. ask robert about that james burke programme, that was good. he walked about a lot, then came to a halt whenever he had a blinding conclusion to deliver to the camera. the old grey whistle test, in concert, that sort of thing. cheap for the bbc, hours of fun for us.
