Gas Wars?
new school
They're in the middle of building a new school next door to my in-laws' house in Plancher-Bas. It's a bit of a concrete monstrosity, and when finished it will block the view to the church, but it is an improvement over the old former-convent that used to stand on the spot, which was infested with mice.
The most interesting thing about it, though, is the planned central heating system, which will not be gas- or oil-fired, as you might expect, but wood-fired.
Now, that's what I call forward thinking. The village, as it happens, owns and manages quite a bit of woodland. So Moscow can stick that in their pipe and smoke it.
