phone stash
i got a walkman phone last november and was depressed ever since because it's not compatible with macs. so it cheered me up* to get hold of a pc and finally load some songs on. this many, albeit at a shitty compression rate.

American Analog Set...
I saw them at the Rescue Rooms Nottingham about 3 years ago. Have to admit I left early. There were about 20 people there. We had gone to see Saloon (late lamented band of beauty who were meant to be headlining), found Lorna as the support (wonderful) and frankly were a bit cheesed that Saloon and AAS swapped slots. I found AAS a bit... well... noodly I guess. Also, lacking in well sexy females (which both the Lorna line-up and Saloon line-up could offer, and playing violins too).
Are AAS better than I remember them?

i've not seen aas in the flesh, but i love the albums. "noodly" is probably about right. they've got that quiet intensity thing going on, which i dig. but one person's hypnotic is someone else's bored, i suppose.
i saw saloon at a pokey little place in chelmsford and they were ace. i believe there is a posthumous release out this year which scoops up session tracks and rare singles.
