Bye Bye Blackbird

Someone's budgerigar escaped and came into our garden to invite a blackbird to dinner. Unfortunately, the blackbird had a sudden heart attack. Luckily, the budgie knew CPR and attempted to revive his/her feathered friend. S/He tried with all the capabilities at his/her disposal for 4 minutes and then personally carried the blackbird off to the bird hospital.

I don't know what type of budgie it is, or which sex, but maybe Simon can help.

  • Did a quick photoshop on your picture (crop, colour balance, levels and slight sharpen). Its here.

We've dropped a copy of some Christina individual tracks (for mixing etc) into a zip file on rashbre central. You may want to have a play.

  • Ha ha. You know, I always exaggerate the colours a bit when I post stuff up on flickr, because flickr does tend to over-compress in the processing, which knocks the colours back a bit.

My picture wasn't very sharp because it was taken through two layers of glass - I daren't move to a closer position because it flew off as soon as it detected movement.

I'll check out the Christina stuff.

  • I think it's a female sparrowhawk.

The only doubt I have is in regard to its size. There's also the Goshawk, which is far less common and larger than a sparrowhawk, so it could be one of those.
